Last week I wrote a post encouraging you to attend the annual Tulip Festival in Skagit County Washington. A few days later I watched a segment on the Today Show featuring the parents of Ethan Chapin who spoke about the foundation they started in his name and the opportunity to purchase the “Ethan’s Smile Bulb Mix” in memory of Ethan. Ethan used to work at Tulip Valley. According to the article, proceeds will go to the foundation to provide scholarships for students who attended his high school to go to the University of Idaho. You can read and watch more at: https://www.today.com/parents/parents-idaho-murder-victim-ethan-chapin-tulips-rcna77867

This time I'm challenging you to not only attend the Tulip Festival running all of April, but to also visit the Tulip Valley location where Ethan used to work and if possible, purchase the Ethan’s Smile Bulbs and even better yet, one of the merchandise options for this foundation. You can also order tickets, the bulbs and merchandise on their website at https://tulipvalley.com/ethans-smile/. Photos of the items are posted in this blog.

I do not know the Chapin family, but I can tell you this tragedy hit my heart hard. I am a parent of three boys, one of who graduated a few years ago from the University of Idaho. I cannot even begin to imagine the healing process after something like this.

Minimally, I do ask that you say a prayer for the Chapin family as well as the families of Xana Kernodle, Madison Mogen and Kaylee Goncalves who also lost their lives that day. They are all still grieving. #Ethanssmile #tulipfestival #skagitvallytulipfestival
